Interior Design meets Cinema

Cappellini and Walt Disney have teamed up for the design of these amazing armchairs.  Designed by Dror Benshetrit for Cappellini, the Tron Chairs are inspired by the digital landscape of the latest Disney movie, individually hand finished and therefore unique.  Dror’s mission was to intersect together a series of complex shapes given by the jagged digital landscape into a three dimensional piece of furniture.  These chairs are made of fiberglass and polyester resin and will be available in different colours and textures.  They will be launched at this year Milan International Furniture Fair in April.

This was a project I worked on a couple of years ago in Turin. I inserted a mezzanine floor within the living area to allow space for the sleeping area and ensuite. This are accessed via a new spiral staircase coated in matt white paint with rubber foot grips. The original bedroom was then converted into an office.
